Penguin 4.0 Is Now Officially Live. Rolling Out Now!

not much is said in their announcement "
  • Penguin is now more granular. Penguin now devalues spam by adjusting ranking based on spam signals, rather than affecting ranking of the whole site. "

"Google's algorithms rely on more than 200 unique signals or "clues" that make it possible to surface what you might be looking for. These signals include things like the specific words that appear on websites, the freshness of content, your region and PageRank. " pagerank still hold value?

yes of course pagerank still hold the value by server side of google not for public.

Thought this update was out 7 months ago. anyway thanks for update.

"real time" as opposed to periodic updates. Uh huh, ok then. Because crawls happen in real time and aren't done periodically at intervals depending on rankings / traffic.

And yes, I realise I'm being pedantic but I dislike Google using terms like this to imply that they're omniscient and ever-present - which, no.

I've been actively trying to sandbox a crappy 3-page duplicate thin content site for over 15 months now. It was a brand new domain and I've thrown millions of spammy links at it to see what finally kills it.

So far, it's got majestic and moz metrics through the roof and I'm now getting people email me asking if they can write guest posts for it.

Real time my arse.
