So, one month ago I bought a previously owned music related domain name and used id for my first autoblog project, basically I transformed it into an music related news agregator.

I did a 301 redirection of an old music niche trusted domain with first page position on the targeted keyword search.

Bookmarked the first page using the keyword in the anchor. (Did not ping)

Did a few 3-way link exchanges with some new websites with no serious trust. (Did not ping)

Build a few .edu backlinks on non-spammed forums. (Did not ping)

*Posted a backlink on almost 100 pr webshots.com pages. (Did not ping)

*Posted nothing but rss grabed duplicate content.

*Used a lot of BH plugins without changing the folder names but I did disallowed the wp-content folders in robots and uploaded a blank index page.

    *Used Google Analytics
    __________

The traffic started to raise to about 2000 visits per day until three days ago when my serps dropped radically and the traffic with them to about 200 visits per day.

My google webmaster account for this website practically froze but my pages are still indexed at the same rate. (I think)
    _________

Have I been penalized, sandboxed or is it early to tell ?

And what I did wrong ? Oh.. wait.... :D

You have a quite a complicated situation here, lots of factors which may be to blame.

I don't recommend autoblogs to be used in this way. To my mind, an autoblog is about numbers. A certain amount will be rejected by google. If you only have one autoblog, then it's too much of a risk to focus all efforts onto it.

I am working on two older trusted sites at the moment, trying to turn them into money sites. I'm throwing backlinks at them like nobody's business and they have been able to handle it pretty well. So, from my limited experience, I would guess that the problem is your content and not the nature of your backlinks.

I would advise you to replace the dupe content with original content. The new content can be very short or poorly written, as long as it's original.

Next, work on your backlinks. Older domains seem to be able to soak them up. Add hundreds and you will be in a better position whatever happens.

Thank you for your advices Micallef, I also see a lot of flaws in my strategy but only after I put them in writing.
