    Few sites of mine have been penalized (Google Webmaster Tools message confirmed) months ago, but they are still indexed.

    Now I ask myself: How can I figure out if my PBN domains eventually has been penalized? I mean, I won't see it if they are penalized, because they still will be indexed. I don't want to add any of them on GWMT.

    Any suggestions how to handle that?

    So are you saying that you want to link your money site from penalized domains?

    No, he just wants to check if his PBN is penalized or not. You know you can always create a GWMT account from a friend or proxy based and add one of them that you suspect might be penalized :) You can always google site:yourdomain.tld and see if top result is home page.. just some tips..

    No? would be pretty stupid.

    @SunnyLeon:

    Yes, I think thats the only way. Of course I already know the site:xyz.tld function already, but before when a site got penalized it disappeared from the search engine (deindexed), but now even it is penalized it still shows up when I do site:domain.

    Ah, sorry I read it wrong, operating on minimal sleep! I doubt your PBN's would be penalized, but you can add a couple to different GWT accounts using proxies, randomly and check. Honestly, google has no way to know it's a PBN. thousands of people add their sites to GWT everyday, impossible to scan each one manually. Unless your PBN is really crappy, you have nothing to worry about. Even if it is crappy, like I said Google can't police every website. It's impossible.

    Again, he said he didn`t want to add the PBN to his own GWMT account :) and about the websites not dissappearing from search.. There are a lot of penalizations that google slams on websites, not all of them lead to deindexing.. most lead to extreme serps drop.. so maybe that`s why your website are still around

    Write a new article with a unique title that is very low competition keyword. Example: Dog Trainers who love life in Mante Utah. See if that ranks for any that search term. I also use Ahrefs and SEMrush to see if a domain is ranking for any keywords. If not then it has no value.

    I know what he said but there is no magic wand to determine whether his PBN is penalized or not, adding to fresh GWMT accounts may reveal the penalty (if there is one) but it is not guaranteed. Again, highly doubt the network is hurt, many sites get penalized but the PBN's remain fine. The perfect example for this is the market place.

    @nakamura - Here's an easy solution for you that will work:

    What you can do is, find an extremely easy keyword on google. Something with < 100 searches. Find an abandoned website that is targeting that keyword, preferrably on the first page but not the first position. Link out to that website from your PBN. If it rises in the serps then you know that your network is alive and well. If the website tanks then you have your answer and since it is an abandoned website the owner doesn't care either.

    Just take one of your PBN sites and put it into GWT. Separate GWT, created specifically for that one site. GWT won't show Google anything it doesn't know already and the only no-no with GWT is adding multiple domains within one account. If you create a separate GWT just to check whether the domain is penalized or not, it's just fine.

    And also, the only kind of penalties that PBNs get are "death" penalties, so deindexation. So I still believe, that your PBN is up and running without any penalization.
