    Hi

I used a pbn composed of around 20 sites to boost my website. These sites are all clean expired domains with decent metrics and no spam content in the past.

It worked fine because my money site went from position 45 to position 4 in one month.
It stayed there for 2 months, and now it is stuck at position 23 since 2 months.

    That's weird.

My pbn are untracable I blocked bots, all with different themes (mix html and WP) and unique top notch content (1000-1500 words with images videos and links metrics authority sites).

Do you have any clue why my money site didn't stay at position 4 ? SERPS didn't change for other sites and my target kw is mid competitive.

I don't understand because my pbn is fine and all sites are indexed.

    cheers

Sounds like you might be penalized for over-optimizing your anchors. Have your diluted your anchors properly?

Have you been following this thread?

It sounds like you are in the same boat as everyone else. A lot of SERP movement and instability. A lot this month, but actually a lot over the past two months.

Many theories, but I don't think any one has the answer. I think it's going to take some time for everything to shake out and the SERPs return to at least a little stability.

All my pbn tests basically look this.

Link to test site > Jumps well > In a week or two drops back closer to the original position.

I am testing on already established authority sites. Sometimes it will goto the top of page 2 and get stuck. If rankbrain is indeed active, it is definetly looking at other signals to rank rather then just links.

On the other hand in the niches that I am targeting most of the content ranking on page 1 are info pages while actual Best ____ pages are on 2nd/3rd or non existent. So there is definitely something going on. Will have to wait and see.

Another complaint about a good PBN thats not doing shit for rankings. Where PBN service providers? No one here to defend PBN's?

I'll say this i definitely think the big G has devalued PBN's!

How many did you test? Out of 20 that I tested recently, two have a similar story to yours

How many anchors are you using for the 20 links? It may be an over optimised issue either or both on and off page.

Very interesting 0.o similar results on my end

Both of my sites climbed all the way to the first page of google within the past 6 months. Then the first one started bouncing and climbing to the first position for important keywords.

About a week ago both of the sites droped in the serps anywhere from 3-15 positions per keyword.

They both were set up on my 20PBN network (Small network of high quality sites which is probably why i only saw a small serp drop compared to other members).

I check my PBN's atleast twice a week and they are all currently indexed.

I went ahead and pulled one of my money sites from all the PBN's today and i will report back with the results soon.

Very interesting 0.o similar results on my end as mentioned above.

    Thanks,

I didn't count. It was a mix of expired & auction domains. As well as cost of content & hosting.

Probably engagement issues, are your content top notch or better than sites on first the page? Links can get you there but only your content(engagement) can make you stick on the first page or slowly climb up to #1. Try adding videos or infographics(improve your dwell time) that signals google that your content is better than the other first page sites.

There are shittons of other factors besides backlinks. How big is the site, what are your onsite KW densities? Is your engagement good enough? How is your internal linking? Etc etc. PBN has done its job, now the problem is very likely somewhere else.

MoneyValue > I have 1 to 2 links on each pbn domain pointing to my money site (one to the homepage and the other to a random page). Anchors are all this kind:
    "blabla keyword blabla"
So no exact match, but containing the kw.

danparks > Ok bro, so let's wait a bit then and see what big G decide for all of us human beings.

Warhol > yes my content is better than the other on 1st page (there are only ecommerce without any content)

Nargil > Internal linking is fine it's important for SEO to have a good internal linking I know this. My domains are on different hosts, reliable ones.

The only "problem" I can see with my pbns is they are one page site, the 1500 words content is on the homepage. The the other pages are contact page or About page etc. But even with this, they don't look like the same sites, design is different, menus as well, etc.

If your PBNs are 1 page sites, with full homepage article, all of them with only ONE single outbound link pointing to your money page, then I am very surprised you are not deindexed already. I would say it's even a miracle.

Every single PBN guide in the world mentions, that you should link out to other sites, put enough content on the sites, make them look real at least somehow.. It's not 2011 anymore. And this wouldn't be good even in 2011.

PBN still work fine for me (of course my own private ones). Also expired domains which I freshly registered, indexed and made link for my money site are having an impact on my sites. Be aware of the anchor ratio (more branded and url anchors).

Expired domains giving little to no push, they're not working how they used to do.
