    Just wondering if anyone has some good advice.

    I am trying to understand the metrics for an expired domain. Reading here at BHW, I understand some of the experienced SEO looks for the following stats

    DA = 8

    PA = 8

    TF = 15+

    CT/TF ratio = less than 1.8 (some suggest =<1.5)

    RD = 15+

    My question is if I find following domain metrics

    DA =12

    PA= 1

    TF = 28

    CT/TF = 0.9 (also applies to less than 1.8)

    RD = sometimes 10 and sometimes above 15+

    Clean Back links

    Domain age around 12 to 15 years

    Would you still take this? This is mainly for PBN and you will only use it for your 1 money site nothing else.

    Reason for comments like “sometimes”: I tend to find some domain names with CF over 30 and TF close to 30, I tend to ignore them because, they don’t have enough RD (usually less than 10), would you still take them even though the PA =1

    Any advice on this

    Thanks

    Have you checked the PA on the sub (www.) or vice versa? Might be a different number.

    I have,
    root is much less
    www tent to be cf/tf round 28 -30, but root tend to be around 10-15, RD's are always the same (e.g: RD for www 14 and root also 14)

    by the way appropriate your advice on this

    I wouldn't even pay attention to those arbitrary metrics. Just look at the links, are they spammy? Are they all from a link page?

    or are they real contextual links?

    Before you get any experience with analyzing domains, you can be sure that a huge percentage (30+) of the domains you buy, will be penalized and won't get indexed. It happens and we all learn.

    Regarding TF/CF ratio... just ignore that please. We are talking about domains with a few RDs, why the hell would you need to even check TF/CF ratio, when you can analyze all 20 referring domains by hand? Why do you need a "spam check" metric, when you can see whether or not the domain is spammed straight away? I can't remember the last time when I even took a look at CF to be honest.

    Both domain are quite decent, just make really sure, that they are clean. I would put 200 bucks on the fact, that at least 1 of those domains is penalized though. :) Feel free to send them to me via PM and I will take a look at them if you want and show you where you did a mistake (if there is one). I have a stock of 800+ domains for sale, sold thousands, so don't worry, I don't really need your domains. This is just about helping you out.

    Looking at the metrics is one way of determining whether the those are worth it. But it's backlink profile that really matters, metrics may be manipulated by spammy links.
