Say Bye bye to PBN's ..........

So in a recent webmaster hangout that Google did, John Mueller stated something along the lines of..
"Domains that have been dropped and re-registered by a third party, no longer have any power from the previous link profile"

Though it does lead us to a tactic that Google COULD be using in the near future to stop the rampant use of expired domains for PBN-ing.

Is this a good move by Google ? what you Guys Think about this ??

Why would PBN's be not working after it, when it only affects certain types of PBN's on google alone.

Expired domains will still be good for PBNs as many have good names that can be brandable for some service or blog or product.

That makes no sense to me as the domain could have been dropped because the guy's credit card on file expired, his SO saw the expired email and reregistered it for him using their name.

    Or 47 other plausible scenarios.

    Google don't care though...

I think they realise they will never be the perfect way to do things and a minority of people will always be fucked over by changes they make.

They are working for the greater good, and that's fair enough.

All it means is we need to look at more auction domains than expired domains. All Google have done (if they even have) is make it harder for the cheap shitty PBN's out there.

The upper level ones won't be touched by this.

I wouldn't mind them devaluing the crappy PBNs that are out there... that would be perfectly fine with me.

I almost always recreate the previous site, add in some relevant content with a link to my money site and Bob's your uncle.

Seems like you can't even listen properly. He said for example if church domain expired and someone picked it up and made design company for example, church related link profile won't have any effect on new website.

Solution? Make a quality pbn with related content to what domain was previous.
But I still see people having results with unrelated content, so either this isn't in effect yet or it's just google trying to scare morons as usual.

Why not just focus more on stuff that is branded, and each of your domains is something that is branded? Too much spammy stuff still being promoted.

Mate, where do you think you are...

    The Moz blog?

Most people on here give 0 fucks about if they are going to SEO heaven when they die or if they are making the internet a worse place, full of scams and BS.

99% would happily run spam bots 24/7 if it was going to put $$$$$ in our pockets every month.

I think it will be hard to implement.

As btb said, what about domains that were left to expire by mistake?

What about domains from company that was bought out or something?

And what about if a domain is registered again and then same links are built. How is google going to determine if a link is valid again or not?

But branded will keep bringing in income longer and has more growth, than the quick stuff you have to keep restarting when it gets fucked in Ranking.

Ah, so much crap. Random guy just says random crap and half people here are crying about end of SEO.

The algorithm they would need to determine which backlinks are "okay" and which aren't "okay" and should get devalued would have to be immense as fuck. If any kind of algo like this was in effect, trust me, you would see brutal drops and jumps all over the Serps. Not just 1%, but entire search engine would be upside down. It would be bigger than all the Penguins combined.

There are millions websites, which have links from completely unrelated sites. Are they going to devalue them too? Or it's okay as long as the site is live, but as soon as it expires, all non relevant links will just... die? Oh my... so much bullcrap everywhere. No wonder people believe "alternative" media.

He also claims that linkbuilding doesn't work

    http://searchengineland.com/google-try-avoid-link-building-can-harm-good-214861

So basically all someone has to do is make it easy to copy and ask people to share. Find out where people are naturally coming from or social media, what their interests are to determine the type of sites that they would share a link on and then post that link on those sites.
