    Hi All,

Started a 10-site pbn just to dip my toe in the water. A couple of the PBN's I built and put like 4-5 articles on with the intention of putting more there all of a sudden plummeted in terms of TF & DA. They went from 14 and 15 to 5 respectively. Why would this happen? Thinking of giving up on building my own and just buying links from reputable sellers that have worked for me in the past.

    Thoughts?

It happened because the backlinks that had the most TF/CF for your domains dropped so your TF/CF also did. Don't get domains with high TF if they have less than 10 RD (referring domains), they are much more likely to drop in metrics and value in less time than the ones with higher RD.

OP dont buy domains based on TF and CF only. You need to manually check link profile of domains before buying. Like Min 20 RD and make sure links is from good sites not some comment links shit.

This happens a lot, usually TF/CF are back up in a few days.

It's absolutely natural that metrics, especially TF and DA drop. You could have lost some backlinks permanently or it's a completely natural shift. TF is updated once a day, so tomorrow, your metrics may be back. However, I woudln't be too concerned with metric shifts, because it's just what they are, the metrics. Especially, as stated before, if you get domains with RD below 10, which have just one high TF backlink, then yes. These will drop the TF to 0, if you lose that one, so always check what you are registering or buying. All in all, don't be too concerned.

If you want to take control over your backlinks then stick to the PBN. Metrics are variable numbers, they change from time to time nothing weird. Maybe some backlinks dropped as stated above...

P.S. get domains with RD 30+ (at least a couple of high authority and trusted domains) DA 30+ TF 10+ it will have a greater impact on your link juice in comparing to those low RD and TF domains of yours, no offence ofc :)

    Good luck :)

Domain who just recently dropped tend to lose its metric value.. I've picked dropped domain from their archive (more than 30 days dropped) with good metric, and most of the time they tend to hold their backlinks much better..

    Absolutely not true whatsoever.

Majestic or Ahrefs do not give a crap about the current expired/registered/dropped status of the domain at all.

Not it's not about their metrics.. I'm talking about domain who just recently dropped, their backlink is not stable because once they know the domain already expired they stop backlinking to that expired domain, as the result, the metrics will also drop because you have less backlinks..

The statement about domain not being backlinked is correct. The metric drop will eventually happen, because as you said, there are no new links being built, but that will happen in the course of months and years, not 30 days after. When you are registering or bidding on a domain you are working just with the backlinks which are already in place and thus with the metrics the domain has at the given moment. It's your due dilligence to register and work with only such domains where you don't expect the backlinks to disappear. I have been holding some domains for months and their metrics are still the same and backlinks are still in place.

But I get what you are trying to say :)
