I have this site which I hadn't updated in 6 months. Recently freshened it up and posted a new article, weirdly it is not indexing.

Site is indexed but not the latest post.

I have tried.
- Sitemap trick
- Tweet and then bunch of retweets
- Pingler and linkcentaur

Any ideas suggestions? Is it because of the new update?

Yup, its because of the last update.

My PBN still gets most of its links indexed in a timely manner but the PBN sites themselves are pretty damn good with great link profiles.

I did try buying some of the blog comments people sell in the marketplace and it worked, not as much as it used to but it definitely got some indexed.

You could also try social bookmarks.

I'm currently getting my whole network setup with IFTTT so each post is shared on multiple social media sites.

Some of my PBN links are taking 2 weeks to index.

Optimize your latest post. You can post and share it on social sites, bookmark it to social bookmarking sites. You can ping also the site/url of where you posted the post (url of your latest post).

Noticed this a couple of days back with one of mine. Hoping it's just a glitch after recent updates.

Check your robot.txt file if the link is do-follow or not. After make the link do follow, then resubmit your sitemap to Search console. I think it will work for your site to get indexed by Google.
Hope it helps. :)

Maybe it just needed some more time to get indexed, this is just a result of the last update. Just be patient, if it doesn't get indexed after a few more days, maybe you need to take some actions.

Register an anonymous Google Webmaster tool account, then add your website and submit it to Google -> the fastest way to get your site indexed.
