I don't link out to other sites in my PBN. The possibly of google finding my PBN is pretty low because it is so small.

Nothing screams PBN more than a link with an anchor text 'seo company' and another link to wikipedia page in the same article.

That being said, do link out to authority sites. Just follow what the big sites like Mashable, TechCrunch, etc. do. Link out when it's necessary.

    Hi,

Sometimes (well often actually) I stumble upon blog networks which are using this tactic. It takes me about 5 seconds to tell it's a blog network. They use 3 links

    1) They link to Wikipedia
    2) They link to some other "authority" site
    3) They link to their site

I think that is very obvious. Any google reviewer will flag that in a split second. In my opinion it's not a super great idea given that everyone is doing it. Start moving beyond what everyone is saying and do it better. Test it out and see if it works. Off the top of my head I would probably start with this...

    1) Don't link to CNN. Unless your site is about political news or the like, CNN isn't related.
    2) Do try to find authority sites in your niche. Preferably not competitors. If they are authoritative enough, consider linking. If you take #2 underneath them with the cocitation its better than taking #10 without linking to them
    3) for the love of heaven test this. See if it actually helps you.

That's just my two cents worth, based on the extremely tiny SEO knowledge I have. And based on how I think Google is going to move forward.

I would link to something else on the blog besides your money site. It makes it way too obvious if the only sites that these blogs are linking to is your site.

Just try to make it as natural as possible. It should not be something like learn more info here and it gets linked to the front page of Wikipedia. Instead, link to the actual page that you're talking about, so if its apples, it would be learn more info here linking to the apples wikipedia page.

This is true. You're giving away your PR for no reason also. Better off making the blogs look legit so they "might" pass a manual review, and saving the PR for yourself.

I think linking to authority sites is still should be done to mask your no authority links but they should be as much as possible relevant to the topic.
I usually scrap authority links by the same keyword that I target content for.

It isn't necessary but doing that may help reduce footprints.
