Google's John Mueller: Google resets a backlink profile if it sees the new site is completely unrelated to the old site.

    Your opinion?

Conclusion: Don't make "completely" unrelated sites :)

Yes, but i guess their algorithm isn't that good enough to detect the relevant content on a expired domain. just my opinion tho

This is very good news. PBN network owner might get into problem in the short term but whenever Google makes such drastic update, there are bound to be more loopholes waiting to be exploit.

I'd also like to see what he says, what minute exactly of the video?
The good thing is that I always have built websites on the same topic as it was before/on the main topic that the domain name gives. Imo this is the only way to pass a manual update, and now, if what you've said is true, looks like the only way to create new PBNs :)

... if you can't put related content on an expired domain, you don't deserve to run a pbn

assume my niche is plumber in sri lanka. It is possible to find domains based on sri lanka, but it'd eat so much time. So most people prefer using general domains and making it relevant to my niche.

Never trust Google statements. Test, test, test...

Edit: If this would be the truth, PBN sellers would be screwed but they aren't yet.

This might be true, i bought 25 links from a seller here and it was completed 1 week ago but i did not see any improvement in rankings.

Earlier got good results from same seller.

Well this just clearly isn't true. Not at the moment at least. An expired domain with a bunch of links still carries weight on the SERPS.

Sure but it's not possible to prevent people from acquiring domains and placing links on them. They can only turn that ROI down to a certain extent.

A lot of my smarter competitors are already using mainly niche pbns. They are hard to find but stronger and more effective. Pbns are not dead. Niche ones aren't.
