I have no idea where to put this thread, so I'll just drop it here. Why I just want to say/rant about this, well: I had a discussion with few (not one) first time clients about PayPal and payments as well as they wanted to send as friends and family (as they obviously did earlier from some reason to someone else). There has been a case where I've been asked for to send payment as friends and family to a complete stranger again while making a purchase. Of course I didn't. And I think that there was a thread or two recently where guys were scammed and they sent funds as friends and family of course. So for all the newbies out there. Do not send payments as gifts/friends and family to no one that is not, well obviously your friend and/or family. If you run onto a seller who is ASKING you to send payment as friends and family and he is looking to save couple of cents on a fee, there is something fishy going on I can assure you that. Same seller needs to reconsider his business model and/or raise price for goods/service a buck or two if needed to cover the fees. So stay away, there is something fishy going on. When you are sending funds as friends and family you do not benefit from that at all. Person who receives funds benefits from it by saving couple of $ for a fee and you do lose your protection and right to dispute in case something goes wrong. TL;DR: Just don't send funds when you are buying digital goods via PayPal as friends and family to complete strangers.
