Hi all, I have some questions about paypal. I am going to receive a big amount soon and I wish that everything would be smooth. Hope somebody can clear my doubts here-

I have a 2years old limited personal account.

    1. How do I make it unlimited?
    2. What is the maximum amount I can receive with a limited account?
    3. Can you turn your personal account into a business one?
    4. What are the advantages of having a business acc. instead of a personal one?

    Thank You.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people have the answers here, but trust me, you want to make everything clear with Paypal first. They have phone & email support, and will get back to you with clear, solid and reliable answers.

    Regarding Business accounts,read here - https://www.paypal.com/in/webapps/mpp/merchant

"Business accounts allow you to do business under a company or group name, accept all payment types for low fees, and accept payment from customers without PayPal accounts. Business accounts include all of the benefits of Premier accounts, as well as our special features."

if it's a really big amount, i wouldn't risk it with Paypal, ask for a wire/ACH, it's in the best interest of both parties to make the transaction smooth, if your money gets stuck in Paypal for any reason - it wouldn't be unprecedented when receiving an unusually big amount (meaning big amount for your account, compared to the amounts you were receiving before) - you're out of that money maybe for 180 days, can you afford that?

other than that, the first two questions can be answered, if you take a look at your account, you figured out that your acc is limited, paypal tells you exactly what to do to lift those default limits

no advantages of a business account over a personal one, if you aren't a business, but there's another type of account between the two called Premier, look into that too

I will not trust Paypal for any big amount. Heck, I don't even trust Paypal for $1 - I always withdraw or spend it somewhere.
