    Hi,

I've been having trouble paying with my paypal account. I can login normally but ever since yesterday i get this page saying 'We're sorry, but we can't send your payment right now' following by:

'Return to merchant and try a different payment method
Unfortunately we are not able to process your payment using your PayPal account at this moment. Please return to the merchant's website and try using a different payment method (if available).'

This is a big problem for me, i really need to pay a few things.

    What i tried:

    Changing address info
    Changing phone number
    Remove all history and cookies
    Let my addons guard down
    Use different browsers

    What i can't:
Can't change my password or secret questions (stupid **** that i am, can't find the anwsers anywhere anymore)

How am i going to fix this problem? Can someone please help me!!

Have you checked if you have enough funds on your credit card, bank account?
I usually get those messages when my CC is running low on funds.

If you JUST received the funds, then that may be the reason.

    Wait 24 hours.

Sorry that i didn't mention this in my first post.

I only have my bank account linked to it and theres enough on my bank account to pay. I did move a short while ago so i do have a different IP but same country, shouldn't matter right? I payed with this IP 3 days back without any problems.

Most of the time the problem is when you are doing to many actions on the account (moving money - paying or getting money it doesn't matter).
Let the account 24 hours without doing anything and then you will be able to pay.

There is another way to pass it - you can send the payment as "to a friend and family" and not for goods.
In that way you won't get this message but you also won't be insured by paypal buyer protection.

Waiting 24 hours generally does the trick.

I didn't realise this until very recently, and actually rang them up to complain - i had been doing nothing but legit transactions - maybe a dozen within 12 hours and they blocked all ins and outs to my account for 24 hours. the guy on the phone said that it was routine and that the activity had put up a red flag on my account. they offer no help in righting things though - i waited about a day and a half and everything was fine again. pp sucks :(

Dont WOrry Dude , Sometimes it will occur if we send like 30$ frequently , it is done by automatic internal security team

no manual work can undo this , most of the times in 24hr it will back live , few days ago i have same problem ;)

I recently had the same issue, changed to IE and it worked perfectly.

PS. I bumped the thread as I had a similar issue and wanted to let others know that this worked for me.

When it's 1AM and you need to make a payment there and then, there is no waiting for another day or two.

It's meant to work whenever I need to use it.

No it is not because your account could be gone in a heatbeat. This is a check on your paypal account by paypal as one of the bots picked up on your activity and is slowing down your processing of this movement.

No way around it other then wait it out and try it again.

I would be careful if I were you because something you did recently has caused this to watch your account.

I remember having this problem with a personal account of mine. A message to PayPal support on Twitter, and the guys fixed it very quickly. Never had the same problem after that.

With an issue like this the only way to handle it is to wait awhile and then try again. Normally 12-24 hours will do the trick. If you
need to send the money immediately then call up PayPal and give them a piece of your mind. Bearing the fact you are not doing
    anything wrong. :p

Is this just another 12/24 hour wait message 'we're sorry to say. We can't complete your purchase at this time' if someone could get back to me asap that would be great thxs.

This is probably the reason ( I had the same problem).
you have to call paypal and explain the issue. When I did so, they did not even ask me security questions or anything except my paypal email address.

    Edit:
@Michael Evans this thread is ancient...
But probably you should also try to call paypal and explain the issue.
