We?re expanding our Buyer Protection to cover intangible purchases, such as services and digital goods. From now on, we?ll review buyer disputes where a customer claims a service or item has not been received or is not as described.

As a seller, you will now need to respond should a transaction be disputed. Please provide compelling evidence that you provided the item or that it was as you described it to be at the time of the transaction.

We expect you to benefit from this expansion too, as it gives your customers extra confidence when shopping on your website

Finally.... I've had disputes where PP would rule in the buyers favor without even giving me a chance to provide proof.
It's good to know that they are starting to realize that quite a big portion of the PP trades are probably with intangible goods. Still I assume at the beginning most of the cases will still go to the buyers.

I see this as a problem. A lot of free work will be given out due to people trying to scam sellers. I have been scammed a few times by buyers, so this will increase that. Every seller has those one or two buyers that disputed after everything was concluded amicably. Cost of doing business though.

In other words, if the buyer wants to screw the seller, he wins. You can always find something that is "not as described", especially in e-books.

Up until now there was no review.. They would just instantly rule in favor of the buyer. Since PP didn't really accept intangible goods until now they pretty much 99% of the time ruled in favor of the buyer, while now the seller will be able to dispute this.
