Maybe he can help you
Sorry but he was no help to me, I am asking if I can just go ahead and leave it at a negative balance and abandon it, So I could create a new one and start fresh.
That is not a lot of money, I would just pay it but, sure, you can abandon it.
Happens all the time.
I think you should aim to make some money to turn your account into positive.
Is your account already verified?
They will sent you a few times an email with the message that you really have to deposit money at your account to prevent it from getting banned/limited. As soon as your account isn't limited/blocked, you can sent money to it to get a $0,00 balance and then you can use it further. OR you can abandon your account and leave it as it is. There won't be such a big deal created about it, since PayPal should have been used at negative balance accounts by now I guess.
How did you manage to pay your friends? Where did the funds came in from?
You story doesn't match with the reality... Even if you've paid your friend; nobody can transfer from $0.00 balance.
The reason you've negative balance is that you've got money from someone then they did a chargeback. And, we all know when chargeback happens. Either you've not delivered your end part of deal, or someone scammed you. The chances of scam is very low, or you must have mentioned it.
I'm just saying...
They will send debt collector if real information, not worth it. And unless you always work with proxies, you should just pay the balance otherwise they block your other accounts to.
If making a new account is cheaper than depositing money to get your paypal back to positive, then go for it.
Thats a lot of wank. They will not send any "debt collectors" nor anything else. You might get your acc banned/blocked and thats is it.
Uhh, i speak from experience. They send debt collector 6 months after me abonding account. You probaly can still not pay, but they called 5 times a week, not worth my energy. It was for 140 euro (+ 50 euro for the debt collector so 190 total..) , which was scammed from me.
Edit: And Paypal first called me twice to warn they will send a debt collector.
I know guys who have balances from -10k$ to -75k$ for years. Noone will ever come and "get" you. Do you have any idea how hard it is for them to legally go and "claim" money ? The most annoying thing they can do is send a letter.
Even my PP was in -900$ due to an error for 2 years. I didnt even get a call only 2 emails remainding i should pay. So for them to send "collectors" for your 140 is less than likely but who knows.
Maybe only happens in Europe/Netherlands. I at least don't spend my time making up fake stories.
Im from EU they from the US
I find tons of people getting send to debt collection by Paypal, with just 1 search on Google. Even for amounts lower then mine.
Go sign up with one of the micro worker companies and make the money back. If they will go after you for a small amount... Why risk it. There are some decent micro companies that pay enough to deal with this small amount... Search the threads here or g00gle them...
if you didn't have any info, technically they can't do anything about it. however that's a small amount and you should pay it instead of going through a hassle of making another account
