    Hi all,
I would really appreciate anyone's help on this.

I keep getting emails from customers who've bought an ebook from me through paypal, the whole payment process goes ok but the customers say, 'hey I paid for the ebook but how do I get it?'

I'm not getting any help when asking customers as they say, 'Oh I paid and then nothing happened'. Unfortunately they can't be any more specific than that.

And that's the mystery; I've tried with 3 times myself since I started getting these mails.

I used 3 different credit cards each time to replicate the exact path the cutomers take and every single time everything goes fine and they end up at the successful payment page:
    Thank you for your payment
    Congratulations blah blah
    Transaction ID blah blah
Then just below is the 'return to merchant' button
    - if they click on that they go straight to the download page and then you can download it.

Now all I can think of is that they've never used paypal before and they don't know that they should press the 'return to merchant' button.

So, there's an option in paypal to 'edit custom page style'. Has anyone tried this and does it allow for the above problem to be solved making it simpler for the customer?
    :)

    Hello,

one of the thing is that you make Step by step instructions for your customers, like this:

    1. Make a payment
    2. After you've made a payment with success you will be taken to the page that has a button that says "RETURN TO MERCHANT" Make SURE to click on that button or your order will not be delivered!

When you are on download page make them instructions such as "make sure to right click on download link and choose "save as...""....

You know what I mean? Make a baby steps for your customers for each and every part of their ordering process so they don't have to worry about anything.

    Cheers! :)

It happens to around 80% - I didn't really mid at first but as sales increase it's getting to be a time waster.

You could also add a direct download link in their thank you for your purchase email.
