So is it possible to get money back via PayPal if sent as friends/family?
it is but i am not sure exactly how... try contacting paypal
It is but you must do something before paying
I recall reading a thread on here on how to do it. It might have involved calling your bank and reporting payment as fraudulent. Or reporting paypal that the payment was fraudulent/you were hacked.
I have not been scammed , i was rather curious , as i have been scammed in the past , what happens if it is reported to the bank? Does the bank actually get in touch with the person who received it or do they battle it out with paypal?
they likely dispute it with paypal. i think this can only be the case if your paypal is hooked up to your bank account, and the funds were pulled from your bank via paypal. i've never done this so it's pure speculation. maybe contact the guy who did it for a better answer.
Yeah there are methods that do work for this, but you need to do certain things before you pay
Uhm, If they are friends or family just ask them to send it back?
You can only ask for your money back via the unauthorized transaction dispute and not the other type of dispute. Which make it harder to get back.
It's possible but veery tricky. At the time of payment, be sure to use a device you don't usually log on so that it looks fraudulent to paypal.
Well by getting friends and family is not so easy as services - because with services its more then easy, I even dont understand how some service providers uses paypal - you always can call your bank and if bank do chargeback paypal ALWAYS 100% gives back money - so its one of the dumbest parts there. I was scammed in this way like 20 times so I know that they do this for anyone anytime even if products and services are delivered they dont cares
you can always call paypal and tell them about your being ask to make payment to family/friend. It did worked for me but it was huge amount ($1.5k).. not sure about small amounts though.
