ok so someone transfer money to my paypal by accident I guess
then the person does the claim on it and emails me personally telling me to do blah blah. I dont do anything since i dont know who it is.
paypal comes back less then a day later saying they cant find evidence on unauthorized access to there account and awarded me the money...
lol is this my money now?

Well if they sent it to you by accident, do the right thing and send it back. If you think they're up to something shady, keep it. :)

    lol,
I would give it back if it was accident, if you KNOW it was a scam gone bad - sleep on it. Not sure how much your soul is priced at but I doubt it is the amount you got :), I am sure you would like to get your money back if you were in the same position.
Once I got a $8K wire into my biz checking by accident, and did not notice it until like 2 weeks laterl. I gave it back, of course.

Don't be a pussy and just keep it!
It's your money if someone sent it to you ( by mistake or not) ... After you lose at poker do you ask for your money back?

keep it with you....no issues as you have that paypal mail with you where it gave it to you. no problem; you always have that mail to prove that you kept that money having received such confirmation from paypal. Had you not received that mail from paypal, you account could have been made blacklisted (by imposing some limits onto it) but you are well safe now. Enjoy.
    Take Care.

    It's only a grand?

Dude - for a million dollars it's ok to steal but less than that you are nothing but a two bit thief.

Send the guy his 1000.00 back and go have a celebratory drink that you are a good guy that did another human a favor.

It sounds like he already tried, through saying his account had unauthorized transactions, but his case was dismissed by paypal.

You have to give it back. If the money is not yours, and you know the owner or how to get the money to the owner, you have to give it back. Just like when the bank makes a mistake, and puts extra money in your bank account, you must immediately inform them. Keeping the money would be the same as steeling it. Returning the money is the law. If this person goes to court or files a police report, you can expect to be forced by the court to return the money, be ordered to pay all court and other legal fees related to the case, including the legal fees of the money's legal owner, and lastly potentially face charges of theft or grand theft depending on the amount of the money.

If you think the money was earned by this person as a result of illegal activities, return it anyway, then file a report with the appropriate authorities and include all evidence supporting the claim of the illegal activities taking place. These steps will prevent you from facing civil and criminal proceedings against you. And if the money was earned illegally, you want it as far away from you, your accounts, and other assets as possible. So bottom line, return all of the money RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Or take it and buy plenty of Vaseline to last you awhile so it wont hurt as much.:eek::D:D:D
