    Hey guys,

long time lurker, first time poster..

So paypal has restricted my account due to "abrupt or large shifts in business practices"

They are now wanting information about my "business" well, i don't own a business and it was a personal account.

Back story is my girlfriend is a dancer and used my account to accept credit cards, so the influx in money i guess flagged them.

On top of that, I have an out of state ID, even though I now live back at the residence the paypal was originally listed to.

They also want a copy of a utility bill in my name, which I do not have. As all of the utility bills are in her name.

So that being said, my question is how do i get them to release my funds, or how do i get around this limit? Im only allowed to receive money or refund money at the moment.

If I close the account will they send the remaining balance to me?

    Any help?

If i tell them the truth won't they look at it in the wrong light? I mean technically its not her account, its mine, but she's was using it. It only has around 600$ in it currently, but in the past couple of months we've had roughly 20k pushed into the account.

With that being said for months they appeared to have absolutely no issue with me having an influx of money as they were getting their percentage off of each transaction.

That is how they work. Try explaining to them and pray that you get a decent support guy with above average IQ on the other side of the phone. I was able to unlock my account just by explaining everything of what i do and the guy got impressed and little humour around and bam! my account was unlocked in couple of hours.

Should I submit a copy of my license, even though its from a different state? Or should i bypass that and just call them?

The control panel would be asking for some documents to get verified, right ? Send them and then call.

Right, it is. I have a valid id its just not to the address on the account, however it does show my name and photo. I have also just found a utility bill that shows my address on the file. But even with those two things they want business information, which I don't have because its a personal account, and inventory information which I don't have because she sells dances, and shipment information which i don't have because there is no actual shipping.

UPDATE: Problem has been cleared up, I submitted a photo of my out of state ID, and a copy of the utility bill that I did have, for the invoices i simply screen shot a picture of things she had charged. And for business information I just put my name, the address of the venue and and labeled it as "entertainment"

    thanks all for your help!

I have withdrawn and helped many member with similar problem. The solution is to get a prepaid debit card w/ bank and withdraw.

Avoid metabank or greendot because PayPal isn't fond of them.

There are prepaid services that have unique, unexploited bank names that PayPal can work with.

If they don't accept the bank, simply call them up and have them add it.

However, from reading your post, i assume you just got limited which puts you in a very unpleasent dilemna.

You're only option is to wait 180 days. You can reduce it to 45 days if your account doesn't have any activity that might deem you as a risk, such that you must wait 180 days.

So refunding the money in large amounts will delay your early "bail". Let it sit there and if nothing suspicious occurs, PayPal will allow you to withdraw after 45 days.

Closing the account isn't even possible in a limited state. If you wish to provide documents, you might want to find second eye on this forum and ask him for help.

However, submitting documents 10 days later after PP limits your account is frowned upon so take that into account should you choose that route.

I would probably check the marketplace for secondeye. He can answer these questions for you and provide documents to PayPal. If you tell them the story you will put yourself in a box.
