So I paid some guy $140 for some articles which I never received.

Basically I am trying to decide which PayPal dispute way to use. They suck so I have to be careful as possible. Which is the best way to get my money back?

    Should I:
    1) Item dispute
    or
    2) Unauthorized transaction

Post option and then what you would say in the letter to them. It was all from Paypal balance.

If they were articles, would they be "virtual goods- delivered electronically." How weak is the case for that?

Did you pay with a credit/debit card or a direct transfer from your bank? If you paid from a credit/debit card, then you should just call that company and decline the payment.

You will lose the case for an item dispute (articles are intangibles) and if you file a fraudulent unauthorized transaction dispute, they might close your PayPal account.

Yeah I agree with olden. Pay Pal can be very difficult with digital goods. Unless the product was to be shipped and never received. But they do not really help any with digital goods.

Ok so is this a viable option:
    1) Service- they were supposed to write 100 articles for me but never began. I have records that show that

It comes down to their Buyer/Seller Protection Policies. If it is intangible (i.e. does not involve the trackable shipment of some physical thing from Point A to Point B) then you will lose the dispute. No amount of evidence will change that. I've never seen a dispute like that go in the favor of the claimant.

Does anyone know where I can read over the buyer/seller protection info referenced by olden?

If you paid for a virtual item, it's pretty hard for you not to win because they have to prove that they sent you the item. Just ask paypal to have them show paypal the articles you were to receive and they won't be able to.

In my personal experience, this is not accurate advice.
