Hey Everyone, Last night my PayPal got hacked. Someone got into my account and created almost 20 Express/Priority shipping labels for USPS to ship to Ukraine and Russia, totaling over $1300.00 I had the PayPal/Bank end of things wrapped up, my money will be returned, etc. I thought about all those tracking numbers and wondered if they were voided or not and would they be stopped at the post office? I ran all the tracking numbers they created, 1 of them already hit a post office a couple states over from me! The post office STILL accepted the package, they were unaware that the package should be stopped. So...at this point my money is going to be returned, I don't have to do anything else..but I say for the hell of it, I'm going to make it my business to stop every one of these packages. I tried to get in touch with postal inspectors, post offices, etc -- more difficult (due to offices closed/etc), couldn't do it on my own, I had to get the authorities involved. At the time, only 1 hit the post office, by tonight, 5 more popped up at a post office, spread out through the southern US. USPS Special Unit has already made plans to stop the first one at it's next facility, and now has the full list of tracking numbers of the others... They have plans to open the package, etc. If it can be followed back to someone, I am pressing charges. It's crossed my mind, what could be in these packages to make someone hack someone's paypal, print labels, send them out to Ukraine/Russia from all over various states around the US..... It's not one person -- this has to be a group of people working together. I ran some searches on google, I'm not the first to have been hacked for Russian shipping labels (however, I haven't seen the amount anywhere near mine)...but no one else pursued to the level I have and posted about it anywhere... So any guesses of what's going on? Or any Russians/Ukrainians familiar with the scam and know what's being sent? Can't wait to find out what they thought was sooo important... If I get any posts, I'll update the thread!
