    Hey Everyone,

Last night my PayPal got hacked. Someone got into my account and created almost 20 Express/Priority shipping labels for USPS to ship to Ukraine and Russia, totaling over $1300.00

I had the PayPal/Bank end of things wrapped up, my money will be returned, etc.

I thought about all those tracking numbers and wondered if they were voided or not and would they be stopped at the post office? I ran all the tracking numbers they created, 1 of them already hit a post office a couple states over from me!

The post office STILL accepted the package, they were unaware that the package should be stopped.

So...at this point my money is going to be returned, I don't have to do anything else..but I say for the hell of it, I'm going to make it my business to stop every one of these packages.

I tried to get in touch with postal inspectors, post offices, etc -- more difficult (due to offices closed/etc), couldn't do it on my own, I had to get the authorities involved.

At the time, only 1 hit the post office, by tonight, 5 more popped up at a post office, spread out through the southern US.

USPS Special Unit has already made plans to stop the first one at it's next facility, and now has the full list of tracking numbers of the others...

They have plans to open the package, etc. If it can be followed back to someone, I am pressing charges.

It's crossed my mind, what could be in these packages to make someone hack someone's paypal, print labels, send them out to Ukraine/Russia from all over various states around the US.....

It's not one person -- this has to be a group of people working together.

I ran some searches on google, I'm not the first to have been hacked for Russian shipping labels (however, I haven't seen the amount anywhere near mine)...but no one else pursued to the level I have and posted about it anywhere...

So any guesses of what's going on? Or any Russians/Ukrainians familiar with the scam and know what's being sent?

Can't wait to find out what they thought was sooo important...

If I get any posts, I'll update the thread!

That is quite scary. Why you had so much funds in your paypal ? You should have transferred it to the bank.

    Hey guys,

    To your Q's:

I did not have all of it in PayPal. I had about $400 in PayPal. After they used my paypal balance, it started to debit from my bank.

To the other question -- yeah, all my money is being returned. It was obvious to PayPal and the Bank that it was a scam.

It's common practice dudes.. All over SE Europe. They hack numerous accounts, they order stuff on the web with stolen CC's and what gets through ..gets through.. Not many people are as vigilent as you eye4details. And in countries such as Ukraine and Russia, they go hand in hand with the authorities, some pay them a bribe, some are relatives of high ranked government members etc. When Interpol comes nocking they give them the Rope-A-Dope, they know they're served BS but in the end what can they do? Invade a country for a stolen CC or hacked PayPal?! No, they growl and finally they back down. Everybody gets paid and is happy except for you ofc. And some times, the authorities there give up some network of people that are doing this just to keep the FBI or Interpol chillaxed. This online money stealing still works if you cash in fast and if you have some backup from local authorities.

There are tons of ilegal methods to gain funds from people. One of them is this: You get a CC from someone in the states that has a high limit on their CC or a quite large deposit fund, you clone the card, you go to Sweden or Norway and withdraw some of the funds. They have a protection law or something that allows them not to give details to the police about it. Or, you go to a fiscal paradise like the Cayman Islands and do the same thing. Rinse and repeat. If you're smart enough you get away with it.

Only way to really be protected is not to have a credit card and to withdraw or lock the deposit funds. Make it impossible for them to gain access to your cash. That's about it.

I bet you it's either electronics, either clothing/footwear, either perfumes. They usually go for stuff that sells fast.

    On the packages...

Well the description that the shipper input in was: cameras, sport nutrition, shirts -- all I can remember.

However, who really knows what's inside. I can't wait to find out.

And to Ursuake, yeah you're right, it's definitely not the first time attempted or a new game, some posts I found were a couple years old. From what I got, most people don't chase the packages as you said.

Right now, authorities feel it's guns, money, or drugs.

What did I tell you? :)

WTF?!?!?!? The authorities are retards or just were told to say this by the upper hierarchy (I'm going for the second guess). How the hell are you gonna carry guns through Post Offices?! They run everything through metal detectors, they scan the shit out of them since 9/11 and the anthrax craze. And trust me, a package containing guns is reaaaally noticeable even with the naked eye. Even if we take this logically... You are a russian mob member, and you want to get guns, money, drugs from the US.. WHY?!!?!?! If you want guns, you just go to the manufacturer of those guns (if you're bigtime and order bulk) doesn't matter if it's Lockheed, Colt Arms etc. The money they make selling guns to Africa, Middle East, Asia is their backbone income. They'd go bankrupt if they sold to military only. If you're smalltime, YOU LIVE IN THE FUCKIN FORMER SOVIET BLOCK, THEY SELL ARMS BY THE POUND. Litterally, they put heaps of AK47's on a industrial scale and they charge you for the weight. If you want fancy stuff like the new Beretta M9 or some brand new QCB assault rifle, you just go to your friendly local dealer, and they'll happily hook you up. If they don't have it on stock you just have to wait a little, just like for the new Iphone.

DRUGS - Why the hell you're gonna buy drugs from the US and pay triple the amount that you would get from the direct producer?!?! And ofc get stuff diluted to 60-70%. Drugs DON'T come out of the US, they only go in, it's not an import/export type of deal.

MONEY - Who the hell is that retarded to send money through the post?! They have boats for that, you go to the NY or Boston harbor and pay 10-20% to the shipping syndicate and that's it. You get through whatever you want sir. No questions asked. If you know the right people, and to be in this business, you get to know the right people even if you don't want to.

I bet you whatever you want (and I mean it, up to 3000$ worth) that inside those packages is what really says it is. Cameras, shirts, sneakers, sporting goods, etc. Shit you can sell fast, for 1/4 of the retail price. Remember you get all that shit free, even if you sell everything for 1$ you still make 1$ profit. No costs involved. Well except for electricity and Internet providers.

Often time, they will use your paypal to buy these and resell to others, so chances are, they just sold those labels to others

I know there are a lot, but statistically speaking the percentage is the same as in every European country :)

I wasn't talking about those people, I'm talking about those people that took this thing to a superior level and those guys are "protected". I've met people that are doing this for a living, among other stuff, and they're a scary breed of animals, you wouldn't want to get involved with them. But eh, I see I'm being flamed for speaking the truth so, it's all just a bunch of BS that I came up with. Don't believe a word you just read because it's fantasy land stories. There are not backdeals going on in the world, everybody who scams or steals is smalltime there is no big picture. Oh and the biggest truth ever: THERE IS NO CORRUPTION! ANYONE WHO BREAKS THE LAW AUTOMATICALLY GOES TO JAIL! Just like in Monopoly, no time to get socks or a toothbrush, Scottie beams them directly to the cell.

    Happy topytop? :)

these people are gna get away, and people who sell weed get locked up for 5+ years lol. weed that they either paid for or grew it themselves. this is crazy man, im sure theres a way to track them tho. they were in your paypal account. shouldnt matter what security they were using.. if it comes down to it being illegal, paypal should be able to bypass anything. either way, glad ur getting ur money back.

IMO the best way to protect yourself if you're generating decent amounts of money is to deposit weekly in a bank account that has no credit card or debit card attached to it. No large sums in paypal or debit cards. You know, ol' fashion banking:

-You go to the bank (walk or drive)
    -You open the bank door
    -You enter bank
-You go to the nice lady and say "here's some money, deposit them in my account"
-The nice lady takes your money and gives you a recipt

Easy shit... And you're protected. Bonus: you get paid monthly interest on that money, and if your bank grows so does your interest --> Autopilot money.

Sure the whole process takes longer and is more time consuming, but what do you want at the end of the day? To be safe with a little extra work or to wait on third parties to get your money back from the fuckers who stole it?! I personally don't need this worry in my life.
