I rarely use paypal, but if these threads keep popping up over and over about someone's account being frozen why do you guys keep your money in there like a bank? I'd be pulling that shit out the minute I could.

I'm hoping that the title of this thread is a George W. joke and not what you really meant to say.

It's a mystery. There are many services out there which handles payment far better. For handling Credit Card payments, 2Checkout is the best option. For PayPal alternatives, Neteller and Skrill (Moneybookers) are good options. I recommend Neteller, since they have good support, great security, hardly messes with your account, and most importantly NEVER tries to draw money out of your bank. They only request some identity documents because they are legally required by law to do so. They don't try to act like a pseudo bank.

Why don't you Exec. VIPs try to coax management into accepting PP alternatives like Neteller/Skrill or at least 2Checkout? I couldn't purchase Donor few days ago because of a problem in my PP. I want to post some methods and tips and BHW won't letting me to do because of using web addresses, Images or even words like e * mail etc (and no, am not seeking referral for some site). I only maintain PayPal to buy services/softwares/goods from sites like BHW which refuse to accept PayPal alternatives.

    1. some people don't want to have IM money in a bank in real life (personal gov reasons)
    2. there is no other option, if you want to do business, 99% of the sites run on Paypal, and almost every buyer uses PayPal (sometimes CC's)

I've never once had an issue with an account being frozen. I've been using them since 2007 and I only own one account. I usually get small consistent payments in there but I had a client of mine (an old one) test out their little scanning technology and send me several 3 digit payments at once.

    $600
    $400
    $500

I wanted to see if it would freeze me and nope, it didn't. I believe that Paypal freezes accounts from time to time but what in the world are some of you people doing that makes Paypal such garbage?

For Virtual Content now, I trust it. Someone tried to get free work off of me by requesting a Chargeback, I called them, told them that it was a virtual item and that the articles were delivered, they promptly told me "you're right, PayPal doesn't cover virtual items." and refunded the money.

Hey, well people who have problems with paypal these days made their accounts 0-2 years ago.
Also most of them make it for business purposes, with fake details and not wanting to reveal true info.
Even if the info is real, Paypal takes strict measurements - if they notice something odd, even if it's legit - they will limit.

Only legit way is by calling them - they never respond to emails.

Accounts activated before 2010 are safe in most of the cases now

People never believe the stories they hear about Paypal. They always assume that it's the account holders fault whatever happens.

Even when I say that I had my account for twelve years, without a single chargeback or other issue, that all my details were accurate and verified, and that I only ever had one account, many of you will still think it was my fault that my account was limited without being able to appeal, and my 4 figure balance was held for 6 months.

Try having xx,xxx in your account while being European (there is only an option to withdrawn 500 euros per day).

    That's one valid reason.

Luckily for me, even though I'm not an US resident, I have a bank account there in which I deposit all my online earnings via wire transfer (no extra fees).

Anyway, I'm constantly moving my $ from my PP acc to my bank... Paypal is simply unpredictable when it comes down to freezing accounts for no reasons.

I will never understand why people continue to do business with them. I have never been burnt, but avoid PayPal just on the bad things I have heard. I refuse to link an account to my personal or one of my business checking accounts due to the horror stories I have heard. If I need to make a purchase with PayPal, I have an old checking account and I will transfer the funds in that account specifically for that reason and make the purchase. I will not accept PayPal for any work, including my hosting business. I do lose some business, but I would rather not have the headaches.

The problem how may customers will you lose by not having paypal. I didn't know how bad they were until I started doing business transactions through them. One day, out of the blue, they placed a limit on my acct for 180 days. So I have money their that I can't touch because they have it on hold. Had I know about these practices before hand, they would have never had my business in the first place.

I was always withdrawaling same minute when i receive the payment, and one day i received chargeback from some asshole who payed me 700$ for a web design service.
I have delivered great looking site, provided all details to the paypal, but they suspended my account and put a 700$ debt in the account, but as i was always requesting withdrawal same day, now i don't have a paypal, but i received that money so i don't give a fuck :D.

Wire Transfer & Western Union for live !
Or 2Checkout if you really need to use some form of a internet payment.
