Has anybody set up a simple html paypal button that forces a user to send a payment as "family & friends"? Not having much luck atm finding relevant information (assuming one can) within the labyrinths of PayPal.com

Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you and God bless :)

Only PP can set it up,.. If you like to sent to your family theres a method using personal payment..

So what are you going to do when unhappy people start contacting paypal about how they were deceived into paying for services as "family & friends"? That will probably get you banned sooner or later.

Yea, I feel like you would likely get banned if you do this and people complain alot, not to mention it would likely look suspicious to Paypal that you are only receiving payments from family & friends especially fi you have lots of transactions.

You do not need 'chargeback' when you send money to your family members and friends in 190 countries.

Go for paypal alternatives with less than 1% fee.

I'm pretty sure OP is referring to getting random people ordering something from him to pay as family & friends to avoid any fees.

What's more important is that if the op decides to scam people the buyers would have no recourse

I understand the ramifications of accepting nothing but payments sent as family and friends, and setting up donations is being considered.

The reason why to opt for for family and friends is to prevent myself from being scammed by little video game kids who want something for free. The service involves modding online video games to benefit the person who has paid, by increasing stats and in-game money. So you can see how violatile the market is when we are are dealing with teenagers who want to have the cake and eat it too. ;)

See my website. Paypal alternatives with less than 1% fee and they do not offer 'chargeback'.

You realize that anyone who will pull paypal chargeback scams on you will be aware enough of how paypal works to contact paypal and tell them that they were deceived into paying as "family and friends", right?

Then you need to find a different payment processor because tricking people into paying using friends & family will get your account suspended as that is not the purpose of that type of payment.

Not possible, nobody likes to be deceived by using donations, only way is to upfront seek their permission to do so else just use another pp

Your best bet is to have an ironclad no refund policy or something like that then if you're worried about these teenagers buying your service then contacting PayPal for refund.

If that were to happen, all you have to do is prove to PayPal that services were rendered and PayPal should let you keep your money. So I'm not quite understanding your logic on not wanting to be scammed.

They try to scam you, you prove to PayPal that they got what they paid for, and that should be the end of it.

Unless there's something that you're leaving out from your story.

There is no such thing as ironclad no refund policy on paypal, especially on non-physical stuff. If being scammed is that big of an issue, OP should just accept non-reversible forms of payment; bitcoins, bankwire, western union, etc..

$30 is high, why dont you just charge $15 for the service? Less money, less chargeback

There is if it's clearly stated on website and service is legit and he can prove that services were rendered. I deal with this all the time. I'm assuming he has a website that offers this service since he's inquiring about a PayPal button.

All he has to do is add a checkbox or something to checkout form saying that "I agree with the terms blah blah blah" and make sure those terms clearly state the refund policy. He can then fight it if PayPal were to go back after him for something one of this teenagers try to pull on him.

Edit: I'm not sure on whether services rendered by OP are considered legit by PayPal and that would make my point moot then.
