Been trying to deconstruct what they're doing with all the irrelevant sites for "payday loans" appearing on page 1 of g88gle uk. If you put http://www.alphabetarm.com

In the search box of google, the site that comes up first is also the sometime no1 site in g uk for payday loans. Can't understand what they are doing.

Also all the crappy frog in a well type sites that dominate page 1 and 2 now, wtf?:confused::confused:

Wow! something weird going on here...

hmmm.. I wonder what Matt Cutts is doing. XD

I've delved a little deeper, and in the source for the alphabetarm.com site this can be found...

Code:
[FONT=monospace]</div>[/FONT][FONT=monospace]<!--Start template wrapper -->[/FONT][FONT=monospace]<div style="display:none">[/FONT][FONT=monospace]<a href="xxp://prex.com">[COLOR=#ff0000]Payday loans[/COLOR]</a>[/FONT][FONT=monospace]</div>[/FONT][FONT=monospace]<!--Close template wrapper -->[/FONT][FONT=monospace]<div id="sidebar">[/FONT]

(I added hxxp as I am not allowed to post links)

Edit: Additionally putting the prex URL into google also serves payday loans as no1

Interesting...

This was discussed a week or so ago.... The frog in a well shite are redirects..

and prex.com is also on page 1 for payday loans even though it's not relevant. My theory was that the sites are hacked to insert hidden backlinks and create huge linkwheels to one site which is then 301'd to the money site until that one gets penalised then rinse and repeat.

Yeah that's the conclusion I've come to, or they were just doing straight up redirects.
Google still has the hacked page cached for prex, check out the cached version of the last result by typing this into google
Code:
site:prex.com payday
The FAQ page.
