Why not just use a proxy and sign up? You can get a french proxy, right?

NOT that simple, otherwise I don't need to pay someone to do it.

aren't these @free.fr addresses belong to a particular French ISP, so only the subscribers can have these email addresses?
there's no option to register, only to log in

Yes, it's true, the other possibility if you're not using that ISP is to fill a form, but you must have an adress (or postal box) in France, cause you're receiving the login and other informations in a letter.

so that basically means, that you can't create these in mass either way

what's so special about these addresses anyway? why don't just use any free email provider or if you need a French one, .fr ccTLD? yahoo, aol, hotmail/outlook, gmx, live have the French ccTLD or just any other free French email provider?

there must be something to it, but i guess OP won't disclose this anyway :)

I don't think there is any other way around this, OP.

@HoNeYBiRD : maybe they are more trusted by email clients so you can spam more easily with them ? No idea... And my main email is on a .free.fr !
