Student Debt Sucks! Let fix that! Hello everyone, I have been reading these journey threads and it has been interesting too see how people start out and growing some crazy amounts of cash a day/week/month from just making websites with a dedicated purpose. I've done online sites on and off for two years and want to take it to the next level. So.. What do we have? Right now I have two websites, and (hopefully) going to be back into the Adsense program. I also run adverts in another network and am running in two different, but VERY competitive niches. Go big or go home am I right? To give you some perspective on how badly I want to to be completed, I am using my nieghbours Wifi using a publicly open connection just to let you guys know that this is now happening.. I REALLY want this to work and I REALLY want to learn! Experience So lets clearly lay down at what level I am at in order too improve, this is an honest analysis of where my knowledge is at, what I know and what I don't: [*=center]Minimal/No SEO knowledge. After reading the other journeys, I understand the termanology, but knowing how to do it in practice, or the most efficently, is not something I know how to do. [*=center]Minimal/No Programming experience. I know HTML to an extent, but I have outsourced all of my website work to developers. I still turn a profit, but this is by far one of the most expensive cost of running currently. [*=center]Minimal Design experience. Related to the above, I like what I like and try to gage my site if I was a user. Still very little experience. [*=center]Minimal/No Market understanding. This is a hard one to admit/gage, but I have advertised effectively (though inefficently) and all manually. [*=center]Minimal/No Social Media experience. Alot of the journeys suggest social media is by far the best way to expand/grow your niche (from what I can get at) as right now I don't have/use any for my projects. So basically yeah.. Not alot. I would say at this point from two years of trail and error, not really paying attention and just earning a passive income. I have made £2,000 give or take, after all costs. I have never invested my own money, I still remember making my first $13 from a blogspot site just to I can get a real domain. Current Sites Site One - Rice Site Two - Ceramic [*=center]Stats: ~2,000 UV/day. ~$10/day Income. Passive but dropping slowly. [*=center]Current earning king, makes 95%+ of my income. [*=center]Has a Twitter account with bought followers, let me know if I should even try to fix this or simply make a new account for the site to advertise. [*=center]Facebook has a page (will restart if I try again on facebook) with no posts for a year. [*=center]No keyword research. [*=center]Has good retaining users, I have lots of longtails that I happen to be ranking for from user generated content. [*=center]HTML errors which are being fixed. [*=center]Working theme, would like to make some edits.. but it works. [*=center]I have purchased packages on here for this site, ranks have rised the crashed. Again lack of experience is likely a strong factor. [*=center]Stats: ~400 UV/day. Less then $1/day Income. Passive but dropping slowly. [*=center]Alot invested ($1k+) to be outcompeted. [*=center]Site has a strong userbase again, however because of the competion I feel that this is not the best place to put my time and effort into as much as I should. [*=center]Ads are earning little to nothing, need to think of a way to monitise it better. [*=center]No social media backing. Not sure how to market it.. But we shall see. The Plan So lets be honest. I need to learn alot, but I have set what I feel is a reasonable/acceptable time frame. This is not something I want to learn and use one, this is something I hope to use for the rest of my life so lets get it right! I may make more websites too add to this plan, and possibly even go back to my original site that I started with. Who knows.. Main sources of Income should be PPV or PPC adverts on major networks, I have tried other styles like PPD and CPA but never achieved much, so I will stick to what I know. (For now).
