I want to do a 301 from a PR4 finance site to a new bargains/shopping site. I'm going to migrate the whole site over so that every page from the old site matches with the new site when I do the 301.

Are these niches similar enough to do a 301 as if I'm changing the name of my site? Or will G not like the niche switch?

Some of you guys have a lot of experience with 301s and I'd really appreciate some input on this.

Anybody know how closely related the niches have to be for a 301 if I migrate the whole site?

If you are to move all the contents then hope you can set wildcard redirect so that all files in the directory will have the same files and file name in the new redirected directory as well.

Although some PR will be passed. The niches are not in anyway related.

I don't think niche matters when doing 301 for the purpose of passing PR as i have seen people doing it for sites in total different niches..
