This thread will essentially be my 'journal', as I'm doing everything from trial and error and have no previous experience. I figured if I write my progress down, I might be able to see where I go wrong, if I do. If what I write helps anyone, then that's fantastic. I don't have any specific short-term goals, as my end goal is to make an 'authority' channel and page which will bring in money in the long run.
What I've done so far
- I started exactly 7 days ago with a brand new channel (note that it's a new channel, not a new 'account' as you can have multiple channels) and a brand new Facebook page. The Youtube channel is partnered.
- I uploaded several niche related pictures, which were viral quality, to my page. After a day or two I boosted some of the better pictures for $10 each. This brought far more Page likes than specifically boosting the page by itself. This was and only will be the only money I spend.
- The videos are all ripped from other sites/people and are 'amateur' user made videos.
- I've uploaded 9 videos (although I'm now uploading only once every 2 days) which are all monetized.
- I've put the Youtube channel link in the info box on my Facebook fan page and put the fan page link on the first line of all the video info boxes.
- Every video I post to Reddit, in 2 different sub-reddits. I stagger the posting by a few hours and I also post on a 2 year old account.
Stats
YouTube
Views: 60,410
Subs: 70
Youtubes estimated money: $13.97 (I'm assuming the money is SO poor due to the amount of Reddit traffic, as they mostly use AdBlock).
Facebook
Likes: 1030 (This morning I had 910ish so I'm really happy with the influx today!)
