My parents said the same thing, and still do.
The funny part is that if you start banking, they'll probably still give you shit.
I also heard the, "just trying to make easy money".
1 - It's not really easy at all.
2 - What's wrong with easy money anyway? This has to be some kind of jealousy thing.
IMO, parents are sometimes really stupid, if not, just ignorant. The worst part is how discouraging they are when they say those types of things, and they don't even know it.
I used to play poker as a semi-pro, so I've known quiet a few young guns who either bank or even make more money than there parents. And when meeting these people I've noticed the ones who had parents that encourage them/talk to them about what they do, and don't judge them in any sort of way, are the most successful.
