Thats what they get for sending 500,000 unwanted text messages, I know I don't appreciate unwanted text messages especially from a pizza chain such as papa johns.

This will go no where, papa johns operates mainly franchises so they main company will not be responsible. This is nothing more than a side show.

Maybe you didn't read the article. They sent out 500,000 unwanted texts. So, you're saying one franchise did 500,000 text messages? I'm pretty sure this was from the main franchisor, not from one or several franchises.

Franchisee's don't report individual information to corporate afaik. 500k is more likely a total from combined franchises. Also, one franchise could do 500k. One of the reports is receiving multiple SMS per night.

1000 phones = 20 per night per phone = 20k per night. You'd hit that in less than a month.

Apparently you didn't read my message cause your response has nothing to do with what I stated. Legally the corporate office is not responsible for what franchises do, duh. The franchises are use marketing firms to send SMS blasts (most franchises do so these days) or they do it themselves. This is nothing but another 'after the election' dog and pony show. Nothing will come out of it. As for the stock price falling that is because of the political statements the CEO made and the threat of boycott and/or it is just natural due to the fact that all three exchanges are plummeting right now after the election. I don't buy the connection here, investors could careless about something like this cause they know nothing will come from it.

Reminder: Political debates are not allowed on BHW and at least one post was already removed from this thread so keep that in mind with your responses.

Duh indeed. Coughenour certified the suit with the defendant named as "Papa John's Int'l, Inc., et. al."

I'd sue to get whatever tuition you paid for your law degree back.

Texting spam is annoying as hell. Blackhat SEO spam is good though.

SMS spam pisses me the fuck off. What dumbass thought this was a good idea to increase sales? I put special effort into NOT using businesses that piss me off with their advertising. Papa John's pizza sucks anyways. The crust is too thick and has the wrong "mouth feel". Skimpy on toppings; I'd rather eat a frozen pizza from the grocery. And their delivery drivers are always driving these ghetto rides like a 10 year old Taurus with one door painted in grey primer.

It was my post that got deleted for being political because I mentioned a certain word I guess. But all I can say is this is a company that doesn't treat it's employees well and I'm glad they're getting this lawsuit.
