Does page rank automatically go to 0 if I switch hosts? I went from Yahoo to Host Gator recently.

nope, PR and all other web stats are affected by the domain name and your content

The only time my rank changed was when it took me a few days to get the site back up. I am thinking it was down with the PR was updated.

When I switched I didn't bother to move a few folders over. This caused some broken back links. Could this be the cause? Last night, I fixed this.

Your ranking may possibly change of your new host servers are in a different country.

Best to have host in the same country as you are targetting.

Broken links ... if you don't plan to put up those old pages, redirect them to new pages using .htaccess

Only if you changed domain, or if your site was down for a long time between the transfer, if it was "instant" - i.e. you had it all uploaded and just changed nameservers then you should have kept it.
