I have just examined many of my competitor's backlinks. It looks like many (maybe most?) of his backlinks come from a network of unrelated blogs... They're not auto blogs, but they're full of useless crap and appear to serve no other purpose than to provide links back to his site.

Who are some of the companies that provide this type of service? Isn't this what text-link-ads.com does? I think he may be using them.

Here is my question... Is it an effective strategy to use these services? If I want to compete with this guy, should I also do this? OR... Can I be just as competitive by building backlinks myself w/ scrapebox?

Please let me know your thoughts.

I think that a lot of the time the pages you comment on with with ScrapeBox have a lot of links on them, so they're not worth as much.

If the websites your competitor are getting links from are only linking out to only a handful of websites, it could be better.

I've never used ScrapeBox, so this is just speculation. Anyone can feel free to correct me.
