So someone convinced me to pay as friends and family for some sm accounts, he was well respected in the community and showed me all the proof for the accounts, so I thought it would be okay. But after I sent the money he didn't reply anymore. So I guess I lost my money. If I call paypal and explain the situation do you guys think they will provide a solution? I got conversations as proof so I can show them.

Open a shitlist thread if they are BHW member and you have followed procedure to work it out with seller first and gave them reasonable time.

You probably have to claim that your account was hacked, because if you admittedly made transaction yourself they prob wont help. But dont quote me on that as I have never done this before. Just read about it somewhere

Ok, so he's a well respected member in the community. When did this happen? Which community? If it's not BHW, you should go there to solve it. Even if the place doesn't have a shitlist, you can still out him/her backed with proofs and he/she needs to respond, if he/she cares about his/her online rep. If this fails, you can go to PayPal and try what was suggested above.

    Action plan i'd take:
After the transaction has happened, i'd wait 48 hours before doing anything, internet can go down, dog can get sick etc.
If nothing happens in the 48 hours, i'd contact the seller informing him/her that he/she'll be outed, if he/she doesn't give either the accounts or the money back until given time frame.
If nothing happens in the given time frame, i'd out him/her.
If he/she still doesn't comply, i'd go to PayPal and see if i can play the unauthorized charge card.

I was looking for people that had similar problems in the past and how they solved it(if they did). I did not post this to solve the problem here. Thanks for your suggestion.

You don't need to tell PayPal, try to message the person you paid for a few days.

You usually lose most disputes if you tell paypal it wasn't you, they will check the IP from where the transaction was made and send you an automated message that no hacking of the account has been spotted.. Trust me, I have received quite one of those at some point..

If it is unclaimed then paypal will return it to you 30 days after paying if it remains unclaimed. If you sent it send money > gift / family / friends option > then you can't file a dispute so the only other way is if you funded that payment with a card talk to your card issuer and see if they will chargeback for you
    -source paypal

Don't say your account got hacked when you do a dispute because they will "investigate" and see that it was clearly you and not give you your money back

if you used your card to pay for that, you can dispute it by calling your card provider. but if you used paypal balance to pay as "friends & family" paypal will not/never help you with that.

just make a shit list, and learn from your fails. nextime, send it as services /etc if you think the user is untrusted.

I decided to try something else, I have 2 paypal accounts, so I created a new email very similar to the one I made payment to and linked it to my other account, then I wrote to their support saying that I sent money to the wrong email, and asked if they can reverse it to my account or send it to the "correct email". If this doesn't work I will try to chargeback from my Credit Card. Thanks for your replies.

FFS Just do a credit card charge back, you were scammed, they did not deliver what you bought.
It couldn't be more easy to explain to the credit card people.

Call your bank or your credit card company from where you paid the funds!

They'll certainly get the transaction reversed for you.

A perfect example of a person who asks questions without divulging all information. A credit card chargeback is the way to get your money back. You cannot get your money back through paypal if you sent it as friends & family.
