    Hello,

I came back from a vacation yesterday and saw that one of my newer sites now has PR 1 for every page and even PR 2 for one page (this is on http://www.mysite.com/x/x/).

What I find weird about this is that I didn't create any backlinks to that particular page except two or three weeks ago I built around 50k Xrumer profile links directly to that page. I pinged them and created RSS feeds for them as well, but no YSE results. Could it be that they are the reason for the PR 2 on that page? Has anyone had similar experience like that with Xrumer and PR?

TL;DR 50k profile backlinks and nothing else to page. Went from PR 0 to PR 2 in a very short time.

BTW, I don't generally recommend blasting links of that quality directly to your money site, but rather to your second tier.

There was a PR update recently so that could've played a part.

Google went PR happy. You may have even jumped up in PR if you didn't even build any links.

WOW, I just went to check on some of my sites after reading this and several of my sites went WAY up in PR. I have a PR3 on a site that is under 3 months old :)
and 1 internal page of that site is a PR2 with only 5 backlinks.

...on the other had, it apparently hasn't affected my ranking in the serps, so PR is probably worth less than ever. oh well.

Yes - I have many sites that I have around PR2 or PR3 strictly from XR blasts.

These are sites that are also ranking fairly well for some decent keywords. If you do the blasts right you can get PR and rankings.

Thanks for the response. I think I'll do another test just with profile links and see how that goes.

I can't link it to the PR change, because my rankings steadily increase every day.
