Page Rank For Noobies

Hey,

I had no solid idea of the concept behind page rank until I read the following wikipedia article.

Check it out if you are a marketing noob.

Great. Good recommendation. I also recommend any one of the various FF plugins that allow you to see the PR of the website youre on.

Yep - the FF plugins are nice. I like this one

http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html

It gives a lot of data in SERPs and highlights nofollows in red. The nofollow highlighting can get obnoxious, though. Better than having to check source code.

That's where I learned all about PageRank. It also helps when you are researching competitors to have the SEOQuake plugin as well which will determine all kinds of stats including PageRank as you are viewing a website.

SEOQuake Really good application.

Another good one is EverProfits. I run SEOQuake on my Firefox browser and Everprofits on my IE browser.

I think it is foolish to leave SeoQuake on all the time so use the icon on the bottom right of the bar to switch it off and only use it when necessary. Its bit like when you use a keyword tool and Google gets a bit put out for too much use. It works beautifully on the Google search page. You have all your comptitors lined up and all the info is available. Why raise too many red (black) flags.

And don't forget to donate to SEOQuake. Its well worth it. They are constantly upgrading the tool. Not everything is for free in this life but when someone offers for free that is when you SHOULD donate.
