I want to build a site and get traffic from social media but over the long haul, I also want to get traffic from search engines. I decided to use pagination so that after every 500 words the post is split and will continue on a new page. Etc Page 1,2,3.

I hope that this will increase my pageviews/adsense impressions resulting in overall more clicks.

How will pagination affect SEO though? I know it's better to have more content on one page but 500 words/page is pretty good imo.

How have your results been with pagination and do you recommend it or not? (I am not trying to rank for any specific kw in SE-s, I just want to get the longtail random traffic).

Nothing wrong with that as long duplicate content doesn't appear on the other pages. I've seen many big sites using the same technique.

Go ahead man. The only thing I'd say is that layout of the page is particularly important when you're relying on a reader going onto the next page, nearly as important as the quality of the article IMO.
