Let say, you plan to revamp , your site totally using new theme but post wise change is not about content.

Will it affect those work you have done like SEO, Backlinks etc?

BUT you still using the same domain.

If you do not change the content, permalinks, image names, page/post interlinks etc you will be fine.

As long as URL's stay the same and onpage is sorted then it shouldn't have much affect.
You might bounce for awhile but any change should be minimal.

Even if you keep everything 100% the same and only change the theme, you can see a drop. However, I've always seen the rankings recover within 48 hours.

The reason for the change is that changing the theme changes a lot of code for the website and the Google crawler notices changes from one crawl to the next.

Google wants to make sure you're not adding a bunch of KW's commented out (crawlers read comments), and that the code is well-written, etc.

TLDR; you'll be fine as long as you don't overhaul the content and focus of the website.

You'll see rankings drop as a content site targets different keywords than a store. info vs action.

Unless the backlinks are deleted, you'll still receive the link juice. If you're changing the URL meaning if the link points to /page but that page will no longer exist or be changed to something like /page-2 then you'll need to make sure /page is redirected to either the home page or a relevant page based on what the content was.
