I did search first, seems that it should be easy to outrank yahoo answers. I used ultimate niche finder to find a niche, it showed seo competition as 34/100 which is medium, however rank #2 is yahoo answers with less than 30 page backlinks......Just wondering, will it actually be hard to outrank this or very easy?

Should be very easy. Just 30 backlinks to compete against?

If you have good on-page SEO and depending upon the total SEO competion of the top 10, I'd think you should be in the top 30 just with on-page seo.

As others have pointed out, TT and other programs can only guess at how hard something would be based on whatever criteria they are using... It could have looked at #1 and figured it was 'medium', although #2 appears to be pretty easy.

How does #1 look to you?

Although the Yahoo Answer's page doesn't seem to have it's meta tags optimized and only a handful of backlinks, the Yahoo Answer's domain has massive authority. It may still be possible to outrank it. As well as TT, I would manually review the competition.

YA is an authority site, making it hard to outrank.

    Looks very promising,

I actually like to find yahoo answers, amazon, etc. when going against competition.

It's when your dealing with other IM's with good content, onsite/offsite seo is where it can get tough and I tend to avoid unless I really want to invest some time and money in that site.
