Outranking online stores with very little backlinks?

Can I get on the first page with my kw if the first page is populated only with amazon, ebay and other big online shops? It seems like they all have under 10 backlinks. I want to create a big site with a lot of low searches low competition kw-s that would rank on their own.

Yeah, just buy a ton of adwords. Remember eBay, if you don't buy adwords your "spam" will be punished!
