Is it worth to try and outrank established websites for 12,100 exact/month searches?

Here is what I mean by established:

Just buy an aged domain, build a high quality content site, and backlink from high PR relative websites. Really that simple.

just because they have that many links doesn't mean you cant outrank them with less links.

Find better links than what they have and you can out rank them with half the work.

That's what I was thinking, my main concern is their domain age.Can that be a major problem for my "outrank strategy" ?

It is possible to outrank them, though can take at least 6 months.

Although the job is simple but to work that way is really a hard thing to do.
You have to work continuously otherwise you will get back dated.

You can totally outrank them. Just make sure your site is of better quality and gains the same amount or more authority.

As does anything else that's worth it in life. Nonetheless, it can be accomplished. :)

    Domain age is overrated.

Just registering a domain that was first registered in 2000 but has had no content on it until you bought it is pretty useless IMHO. Also, they may have been penalised in the past so whilst an 9off page and on page) optimised site with lots of unique and relevant content and an aged domain will win out against a site that is similar but not aged, just throwing a site up with an aged domain only will not cut it alone.
