When I woke up this morning, half of my keywords from my main site totally disappeared from SERP. I checked again a couple minutes ago and now over 75% of my keywords (75ish keywords ranking top 5) totally disappeared. This is a big blow as this site was bringing in an average of $300 daily in terms of revenue.

Could this be a Google Dance? I doubt it since the site was a little over 1 year old with stable rankings. I don't really know. As of now, I will play the waiting game and see what's up. No manual or spam action on GWT. Link profile was clean, diversified and strong.

I'll do some research and try to update what really happened. As of now, all PBN's are still indexed and every single link I checked recently are still live.

Sorry to hear. There does appear to be something going on with Google recently and possible changes to the algo, so could be an indication of that. Like you said, I would wait for 1-2 weeks before re-assessing. Does seem odd this would happen with a good link profile, though.

    Might do a case study.

Yeah well I did some black hat but only on t2/3

    Nope

Haven't used SAPE. I will make a post to describe what I used to build link. I think I found part of the issue.

That's unfortunate. I'll be looking forward to any potential case study or evaluation you may publish on this matter.

Good luck with sorting it all out.

I have had crazy movement, but in the opposite direction. Yesterday I regained a lot of the huge ranking I lost on sept. 29th. Some are still going up.

Hope you recover your rankings eventually!

    Quick update :

I found out that while all of my pbn's were still indexed (?) I could find the articles in google, but I couldn't find the links using GWT. Long story short :

    PBN = still indexed
Link = still pointing to my site
    article(page) = Still indexed
Google = Not taking these links into consideration anymore.

I will wait a week or two to see if ranking improves or not. If it does not improve, I will remove the pbn's links and see if it make a changes or not.

    I've pm'ed you.

P.S. There is no way in hell G can tell between a legit site and a PBN site, without completely fucking up.

I have noticed that some of my PBNs are slow to show up in GWT. I am not convinced there is a correlation though.

PM'ed. It seems like they were able to find a couple of mines. It's big (5 sites out of 73) but they still figured it out.

    No. My own pbn's

These were indexed/showing in GWT for over 6 months. Quite strange for sure.

Seems like they just discounted those pbn links then. What is your plan? You gonna try removing them and see if rank improves. And/or can you build some new pbns?

I downloads my links from GWT every monday and keep them in case shit happens. I still have 68 PBN indexed/showing in GWT. My plan is to wait two weeks and see if these "come back" or not, along with rankings. If they don't, I will simply remove the links and replace them with new ones.

However, I am still scratching my head as to why my site has tanked. There are still no manual penalty showing - I don't think I deserved one too - and about 7 keywords (mostly long tail) are still ranking (out of 84 total).

Yeah these links were indexed months ago

Really? Because I can tell within seconds to a minute if a site is a PBN, lots of others can tell as well. Google has lots of talented engineers and scientists working for them. Google "neural network programming" for a primer. Whether they have figured out how to do it, who knows, but I'd wager a full paycheck they have a team devoted to it.

    That's really weird.

Did you build links to your PBN? That might be the problem, maybe the value of the PBN has dropped because of the links pointing to the PBN and even though g didn't deindex it, they've basically said they won't pass on link juice?
