Hi, We use software to tell us how many incoming links we have to our site and where they come from...

Some of the links come from our own blogs.
The problem we have is that all the links to our web site are coming from the first blog but we dont have a single link
coming from the other two blogs (even though we have a similar amount of posts and links to our web site in each blog).

Would anyone know the reason why all our links from the first blog are being recognised but not for the other 2 blogs??

    Thanks.

Are the other blogs indexed within Google? Albeit simple, you must make sure they are!
Additionally, check for crawler errors within their htaccess as you may have disabled crawlers from hitting those pages accidentally.

The reason is because Google et al are NEVER going to tell you how many/where/what kind of backlinks you or your competitors have.

If the two non-appearing blog sites are not indexed, Google is not going to see the backlinks. So your first question is if these sites are indexed are not.

    PS
I didn't understand BTB's answer, in case you didn't either.

I suck at communication. The OP does not see all the links into his site using his software and that is because Google and the other search engines will not show the links to the software.

They "hide" some of the links so we are confused as to the algorithyms and backlinks so we can't game the ranking systems they have in place.

I've heard this before, the idea that Google will not report all the backlinks it has. But the OP isn't complaining about 3 sites that only show 80% of the backlinks, he's saying 1 site has "all" of them, and the other 2 have none at all, and I don't think that's the built-in "reporting error" Google does to keep things ambiguous. I think there is a problem with the sites, either because they are not indexed, or maybe they are not crawled (robots.txt, maybe) or there is some other problem. It also might be a problem with his backlink checking software, and I was wondering if he gets the same results if he uses a different backlink checker.

Thanks Ohaider. Appreciate the helpful posts.
I dont know if the non appearing blog sites are indexed with Google (our ex web designer designed them) so I am going to check this now!
Sounds like you are spot on with software I use...I was using backlinkwatch...but when I use Google webmaster tools I get some (not as many) links from the 'non appearing' blog sites..So its atleast partly down to the software...Im going to check if they are indexed too...Thanks again for taking time to offer some good tips.

I just did a site:myblogname search in google and to my surprise none of the 3 blogs are indexed with Google! Maybe they were at one stage (which is why we have some links recognised) but currently none of them appear to be indexed...maybe this is why we dropped in the search engine results..

That's absolutely why you've dropped. I've been working with people every day for the last two weeks and the story is always the same.

They used ALN or BMR and now they're rankings have dropped. You're not penalized, but a lot of your links are gone and you can't sustain your previous ranking without more quality links.

The problem with your remaining two blogs may be either these blogs are not indexed with Google or alternatively, you may go for crawling with robot.txt. This is because, Google sometimes take time to index the blogs of website, in spite of having good quality of contents and suitable links.
