My sleep patterns are extremely bad. I usually go bed no earlier than 2AM in the morning, a lot of the times between 2-4AM and sometimes I end up going to bed when the sun rises and everyone else wakes up, lol. Waking up is even worse, I end up sleeping anywhere from 10-12 hours, it just feels so great to sleep hence even if my alarm wakes me up I switch it off and just go back to bed. Depending on how important the next day is I can sometimes end up sleeping less than 3-6 hours. You get the point? My sleeping patterns are really messed up and I need to do something about it as I'm sure it is affecting my health, especially because I'm still developing.

So how long do you sleep, when do you wake up? I want to organize a sleeping pattern that I will stick to. It must be suitable for day to day living as well as exercising. I don't want to sleep for too short and I don't want to sleep for too long. At first I was thinking that something around 6.5-7 hours would be enough but when it comes to exercising and going gym I will definitely need more sleeping time to let my body regenerate. So I think 7-8 hours would sound about right*but then again what time do I actually go to bed? I don't want to go too early and I don't want to wake up too late. I really like staying up till like 1AM but this will have to change and I don't see how I can start going bed at like 10PM after years of unregulated sleep, lol.

Sleeping by 12am. Up by 5:30/6:00. Working by 7.
Same on the weekends. Yeah, I'm a loser.

If you know how much sleep you need, mark it out and force yourself to go to bed at that time. Use this tool as well http://sleepyti.me/

I wake up at 7am on the dot everyday. I make some coffee, and get rolling. Go to sleep whenever you want, just always get up at the same time. Works for me very well. I sometimes go to sleep at 3am, other times 9pm.

It just depends on how productive you are. You need sleep, but you also need to make sure you are being productive with all your time, when you do sleep, you will sleep better. Push yourself to succeed. In the military there is a saying that oes "You'll sleep when you're dead."

    IM all the way.
When you're a kid, you're really irresponsible with sleeping habits. It gets harder to maintain that as you get older, because the world works during the day. The night is great, but the rest of the world shuts down at night; to be profitable, you need to be up for the morning. I used to go to bed at 4am, no earlier than 3:30. Now I get to bed at about 1, but thats because I sleep for only 7 hours each day. Much more than that (if I can even sleep more than that), and I don't feel good, I feel groggy.

    usually at around 10-11.

I wake up for fajr every morning at around 5:45.

By the time I'm finished--usually 6:00 to 6:10--I go back to sleep.

I wake back up at around 8 to 9.

I usually feel tired at around 1 to 2 and 6 to 7.

I sleep when I feel tired, I wake up when I feel rested. Simple but effective.

I have a horrible sleep schedule on weekdays. I take a few otc sleeping tabs to force myself to be sleeping by the latest nine, to wake up at 3am. Work 4-2 (odd hours, work in a different time zone. Hours are 5-3. Like to stay on my time though)

Weekends, I try to 'catch' up on sleep. I dedicate my weekends to IM, however I will not lie, I try to get 10-12 hours of sleep Fri and Sat night. It is much needed :)

You should take sleep for 8 hours and anything more than that is harmful according to science in long run, more over start taking nap early so that you can wake up by 6-7AM.
Everyone knows that oxygen level in environment is much higher in morning but very few people know that taking that oxygen in makes your brain more creative ;)

My sleep patterns for the past few months have been bad too (1-3am and 7-8am). This past week I stuck to sleeping at least 8 hours a night (9 sometimes).

Tbh, I have never felt so energized and refreshed. I no longer go to work feeling like a zombie and drinking gallons of coffee just to stay awake. Also get lots of things done much faster since I don't get tired until around 7pm or so.

Do you face any problems in socializing ? my schedule is almost similar to yours and i sleep around 3-5hrs, but my social life is almost fucked up, i dont know if this is coz of my schedule but i consulted a psychologist and hes saying my schedule and work is the main reason and i was under medication for like 1 month or so and the day i started taking medicines i remember everyday around 11pm i go to bed i was not able to sit beyond 11pm no matter whatever i do the powerful medicines will take me to bed and exactly like 6-7am i used to woke up and within a week i again started socializing and was comfortable, before it was like if i need to go out and meet someone all my body language start to change and my face turn red and whole body trembling like hell especially hand and my jaws and lips and all and the people around starts looking at me wondering what the heck is wrong with him, after taking medication within a week or so i started socializing without any problems but i felt guilty sleeping 8-9 hrs a day and thought it will kill my dreams and was not able to finish things as i plan, also those medicines were having lot of side effects both sexual and physical and i stopped taking it after 1 month, the week i stopped it all my fucking social anxiety problems came back and iam still living with it, it sucks.

I dont know how to get rid of this i still research about it, but i know very well that the sleeping pattern and schedules for the past 4 years made very big changes in me. I hope you are not facing any problems like that.
