    If all other SEO related stuff is kept equal, how much higher would a .COM rank as compared to a
    1. .ORG
    2. .INFO
    2. .NET and
    3. .EN, .IN, etc.

    It would be great if someone could give me a ballpark percentage.

    Thanks!

    we would all like to know that...

    org and net are almost as good as com (maybe not for brand name though)

    info is kinda hard to rank, but G might change that in the future

    you should only use local domains if you try to rank them for that country, they will rank better for specific country than any com,net etc....

    In my experience .com is supreme.

    If I couldn't get the .com, I'd go for a .org or .net.

    There are other people that say .info and other tlds are good, but I've never done anything with one of them, so I can't say.

    Also don't be afraid to pay for a better .com domain once you've honed your skills. I've got domains I've paid $500 for and they were worth every penny.

    if u target only specific country, get that specif country domain. It used rank before .com. Except for USA. .com will rank front of .us

    here is the order from my experience
    -> country domain
    -> .com
    -> .org
    -> .net

    .info is in last position in my opinion. damn i almost wasted two months of my life with three info domains

    All things remaining equal, .com will beat any other domain extension bar .edu and .gov which of course are not usually available to us.

    Hum, i ve write an article on it on my website dealing with TLD image you give to visitors : (some of them are obvious some of them i didn't know about until i wrote it)

    .us, .be, .de, .fr, .au, .eu .... : provides a country indication of your website. It would be easier to rank a website in the country targeted.
    .com : is the easiest to remind for a customer and the most spreaded TLD in the world and fits well for any kind of website.
    .net is mostly used for a website dealing with an internet theme.
    .org is mostly used for non-commercial companies or businesses.
    .info is mostly used for websites dealing with news
    .biz is mostly used for e-commerce websites
    .name is mostly used for personal website
    .cc was dedicated to Cocos Island's website but nowadays it is used for any kind of websites.
    .tv is mostly used for any website dealing with television.
    .ws was dedicated to Somoa but nowadays it is used for any kind of websites
    .mobi is mostly used for a website designed for a mobile device.
    .co was dedicated to Columbia but nowadays it is a subsitute to ".com

    -> i hope it won't create a duplicate content from my website :D

    Isn't .co starting to rank better? Does anyone have any experience with it?
