I have a few WhiteHat websites that I am very careful building links to but would also like more to send more traffic to. I keep them very separate from my BlackHat projects for longevity's sake. I feel like there hasn't been much talk recently about Press Releases and their affect (positive or negative) on SEO.

My concern is that Google sees the same article on many different websites and doesn't like it. I also know that PRs are fairly commonplace for online marketing.

I have simply never tried a proper PR distribution and am eager to hear other people's experiences. I know they are at least great for generating short-term traffic and leads but are there any long-term ramifications to creating so many links with duplicate content? I would be using high-quality PR services only.

Thanks for your opinions in advance!

That's what I figured. Press releases are something that a lot of businesses do. I just don't want to risk my sites on links that Google now decides it doesn't like. Duplicate content is a big no-no for link building so press releases raised a lot of red flags for me.

I would love to hear from someone who has experience with the long term effects of press release links to a website. Suggested providers are always appreciated :)

One thing is don't put the article up on your site.

Yes, that's the same article in the press release distribution service. If possible to have different articles....

However, paid press release services are still good in the Google.
