Well basically my site has a variety of backlinks but does not include private blog networks or article directories. It's PR1, and ranks Top 10 (only have 1 Top 5 ranking right now) for easy keyword, but for competitive ones usually around page 4-8.

Do you think private blog networks & article directories will help boost them up? And is it worth the price? These are the most costly (I think) and I guess if they have great results it would be worth it...

    And which ones are good?

I just bought a few gigs on fiverr.com for contextual links. I saw an immediate rise in the SERP rankings of a few of my pages. Nothing dramatic so far, but I plan to do some more of it.

Sure blog networks and article directories obviously work. As to whether they'll be worth it for your particular site can only be determined by keyword research and how well your site converts.

Hmmm... Is it still worth it after Panda 3.3? I know they still give juice, but not nearly as much. Networks haven't lowered their prices though so it's like less bang for your buck :p

Yeah, I wouldn't put your links into private blog networks...Panda 3.3 is viscous on links in these networks and I wouldn't do it...

My site got bitch slapped by Panda 3.3 and this is the most risky thing you can do...

If you don't care what happens to your site then go for it, but if you have a money site, then avoid these links at all cost...

I only say this from experience....My e-commerce site went from making $6500 per month to less than half this...

Put your links in private networks at your own risk...
