In my experience it is clear that if I blast a page on my site that it stands a good chance of being hit by a Penalty at some point in the future, a risk some of us do not want to take depending on the time and effort put into the site.

Now I have a question, lets presume you write for an authority site like Huff Post for instance and you SEO backlink blast an article for Blue Widgets, do you think that your entire author profile (and subsequently all the articles you have written) will be punished or do you think JUST that one article will be punished?

I would presume Big G wouldn't punish ALL of Huff Post for the actions of one author but do you think they will punish all the authors work/articles?

    Any opinions?

I don't think Google knows who the author of the post would be unless it was given a manual review by Google staff. Try blasting a YT video with backlinks, as far as I know, the one page in particular will lose its ranking, but the domain as a whole stays unaffected.

If you are writing for an authority site that big, I would doubt it would get punished at all. If it did, there would be no way to tell that you in fact blasted the article so I could not see your author profile being punished in any way.

Thats what I am thinking but I wanted to put feelers out there in case anyone out there has tried. I have an author profile on a pretty authoritative high PR site and put out articles monthly in my niche I want to blast it either with multiple services or maybe even the new service that launched in BST , I just dont want ALL of my articles to get spanked later on...

Will see if others have tested this at all.

+1 on google not "blacklisting" an author.

I mean, you would really have to piss them off for a manual review considering you're posting from an authority site.

    Just IMO.

The guest posting I have done on high PR sites have stood up under GSA blasts without issue. BTW, what niche are you in if you don't mind me asking?

Mostly pages from authority sites won't get penalized easily, because of the power of the main domain. Also, in authority sites, google gives each page separate value as per the content and social sharing as well. So, creating tons of backlinks to it, won't be a problem, at times it will drop in rankings to one or two pages.

You can also add a youtube video to that post and blast that one, Because it is shared in the authority site. It will rank easily.

I definitely don't see them punishing all. Google has been more geared to page by page penalties lately it seems.

worst thing that can happen is a penalty for that page (if we are talking about a really big authority website)
