So I've been working with some companies now but the main problem is that they can only accept payments from US bank accounts (stupid, i know!) with US debit/credit cards and with a US address.

I know it's stupid they won't take my money if im not from the US lol.

So the question is, can I open a US business bank account (bank account for a US LLC) while I, the owner, is not from the US?

I got a US LLC and recently got a US virtual office for me to use their address in a lot of stuff when doing business but the only thing is getting a US business account.

I really wonder if I can just fly to the US, go to a bank with documents and just get out with the account?

I'm in Mexico so yea I know they will ask avery and any question about my business but as my business is legit I have nothing to hide but I still wonder what you guys think!

Not sure, but I would think its doubtful. You'll prob need social security number and other documents...

That's the problem... I can't have a SSN... No one that is not from the US can have a SSN so i dontknow how big companies get their bank accounts; money obviously but still.

To get a bank account in another country is not a problem, I can list you 50 different banks in different countries where you can open accounts without personal visit and all this.

The big issue here is to open a USA Bank Account without SSN - No one has yet reported back that he was able to open an account in the USA even if they visited the bank as an foreigner! No one.. all what you find a con artists that try to fool you into their business with complicated and very costly setups and even then you loose your account at the end of the day!

Because you are not US citizen you would need to obtain EIN (its SSN for not US citizens) for this you will need to file SS-4 form to IRS, and if they will approve you you will get EIN and can open bank acc on your name.

I got an EIN since I got my US LLC though.

I-ll have to confirm by calling the banks and see what they can offer to me.

I see some banks offer "international bank accounts" but I-m not sure about that as it-s a US LLC owned by a Mexican person.

If you have an EIN you should be able to open the account, it's the same thing as a SSN.

Also you can try Citibank. I know they have locations in different countries besides the USA. Try talking to someone at a bank like that, which knows wtf they are talking about too.

According to this us gov (https://faq.ssa.gov/link/portal/340...-S-citizen-can-I-get-a-Social-Security-number) site it seems i can only get one if im asking for permission to work in the us; which i dont need as i dont work from there.

I really don't think thats correct.

For example, in this bank url (https://www.usbank.com/small-business/checking/platinum-business-package.html#tabs-4), in the open an account tab you can see they ask you for 3 things>

    >EIN
    >Articles of incorporation AND Articles of Organization
    >SSN

So they ask for EIN AND SSN, so it seeems they dont treat them the same way.

Yea I mean, if anyone can get a US LLC, anyone could get a EIN that could be handled as a SSN xD

So! It seems this pdf (https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10096.pdf) states one can get a SSN without being a US citizen, but it seems that the majority of people that get one are people that work in the US, something which I don-t do even as I do have a US LLC.

So this is what I-ll do to confirm I can get a US business bank account>

    > Talk to a few banks in the US and ask if SSN is needed.
    > If SSN is required, then I-ll have to see if I-m available to get a SSN by probably talking with the embassy or something.

Anyway, lets see how it goes.
