Hi, I'm thinking of opening a sports betting website. But betting sites are illegal in my country (Turkey) and I should be very careful about everything. I thought opening a bank account in USA or Europe and setting up an ecommerce website that accepts credit cards to sell crappy items (prepaid phone cards) as a front is the safest way.
What do you think about that? Would this work? What should I also do? Know anyone that can provide me with a bank account with the ecommerce site fully functional? I'm open to JV too.

If you can figure out a way to launder the money into Turkey then it won't be a problem. Probably not that difficult, one way is to say you're designing websites for people.

Well I wouldn't make the bank account in the US if it was me. Gambling laws aren't always the clearest here. Maybe a Cayman Islands or Swiss account.

Wow, interesting choice. More power to you but this is fraught with problems. Not only do you have banking issues, but also who makes the point spreads? Where do the customers come from? Do you really think this business idea is viable? Sounds very difficult to me but I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for good wishes. I know it is dangerous but there are some sites that operates in my country and they never even have to change domains (government blocks gambling sites domains) and those sites use local banks too. if they can operate like this, I thought I could operate better. Because this is such a money-machine. I learned this from losing constantly :)

The usual way is to obtain a licence from Malta or Isle of Man and you make operation from there. Also your company should be based in there. By opening a company in that country you also get a bank account and all transfers are made via Malta or Isle Of Man.

    kind regards

I would say that it is something that many would feel somewhat strange about, I would stay away from opening foreign accounts. it is a direct conduit to trouble, look to another way of making money. just a few thoughts.
