I have been running coupon website for 1+ years with unique content. It's not ranking well so far. I have bought few guest post, forum post, social media and video. Its been hanging around between 5-8 pages. I am wondering its not ranking because of the onpage optimization. I have seen g00gle indexing only store pages hourly basis for popular sites. I have set the sitemap similar to the competitor site but it didn't work. Can you guys help me how to handle coupon page, store page and content properly?

I have ranked a coupon site previously specific to my country. What worked for me was, I made each store, as a category page and at the start and bottom included a article of atleast 800 words combined for each category(store). This helped me but you need to also ensure that, you do not overstuff with keywords, if you are including the name of the store in each and every coupon title, so be careful about that.

I was targeting the biggest stores in the country, so on page helped, but needed a tons of links to get it ranked. I think on page wont help you jump rankings, you should probably look to get more links, but quality ones.

Thanks for your quick reply. I have added around 250 words on each stores with 2-4% keyword density. Do you think i need to add more content? Also i have added store name in each coupon url and description (30-40 words) do you think i am overstuffing?
